Attach Photo to your Profile

Our statistics show that profiles with a photo generate more initial interest. The DateNet system allows you to have your photo attached to your profile. Just send an email with your photo in JPG format to DateNet webmaster (don't forget to state your Alias) and the 'View Photo' option will show up in your profile.

We would like to thank all DateNet members for the continuing support during 1998 that allowed us to affirm our position as a premier, high quality Australian meeting club for singles. Thanks to an early start (Dec 96) and a club structure (paid membership) we have managed to attract a high calibre of serious people. We have also tried  to maintain a high level of service (less than 24 hrs response time to queries)  and use of the latest Internet technology (fast pages and databases). None of this would be possible without your support. We received many e-mails that reinforced our commitment to driving the Australian exclusive Internet club to new heights.

Once you have become a member your profile can be seen by others unless you hide it. We suggest you hide your profile if your membership expired and you don't want to receive messages from other members. Select HIDE/SHOW PROFILE from the main page or click here.

Email History Check

As an ongoing effort to enhance our Members' facilities we have introduced the 'Email History' section. It can be accessed from the 'Members Only' area by pressing 'Check your Email History' button. As emails can be lost on the Internet (although that is very rare) you can verify it by looking at all messages sent to you and asking another member to resend it.

When sending a message to another member you can check 'CC Yourself' box and a copy of the message will be sent to you. One practical idea is to create a 'DATENET Contacts' folder in your email reader and file all the messages received from other members and copies of messages sent so you can refer to them in the future.

Hide profile

Members can now hide their profiles. You have full access to member's facilities but your profile is not visible to others. That can be useful in various situations: going on a holiday or business trip and being able to respond to received messages, etc. To have your profile hidden send a request to the webmaster.

Chat

As a part of our program to offer more facilities to our members in 1997 DATENET   now has a Chat area. It's a limited time trial with one room open to everybody. Our Chat supports standard IRC clients as well as more advanced Comic Chat (where you can select a comic character and express your feelings in a graphical way). Read more details about how to a access this facility in our Chat Info page. If you are new to chatting on the Internet use one of the search engines to find more information. Also make sure to read the documentation included in your chat client program and if you have any questions email them to the software vendor.

Advice

Occasionally we have members who say "I've submitted my profile but I haven't received any email". Well .. If all of us did just that nobody would receive any messages! The feedback we are getting from members that are successful is: YOU HAVE TO BE PROACTIVE AND NEVER GIVE UP. So send lots of emails and don't feel put down if you don't receive a reply the next day :-)

The ‘Update Your Profile’ option is case sensitive. When you login to the ‘Members Only’ area make sure you type your UserID exactly as it reads in your profile. If your UserID is ‘Big One’, you can get to the ‘Members Only’ area by typing ‘big one’ or ‘BIG ONE’ but ‘Update Your Profile’ will show nothing. You have to login as ‘Big One’.

It takes only a few seconds to generate your password when you join DATENET. New members should receive a UserID and Password within few minutes. However, those details are emailed to the address given during registration. If this information is not correct (e.g..: one letter dropped) it will never reach you.

Also a few candidates totally forget to put their e-mail address (leaving default). Unfortunately, they had to be removed from the database and will have to enrol again. If you haven't received your password within a few minutes of registering please send an e-mail to DATENET webmaster.

Hooray! After over two months of extensive preparation and software development Internet Dating Network is on-line! Our developers will finally get some sleep. The developers and webmaster used the latest Microsoft technology to build this site. As it is 'bleeding edge technology' it's not always bug free (softly speaking). We hope you'll enjoy using this site. As this is the first phase we welcome any suggestions or remarks you may have.
